    BuDb is a freely accessible online knowledgebase containing information on drug targets, tested compounds, existing drugs, ethnopharmacological plants and genome of M. ulcerans ulcerans relevant for Buruli ulcer drug discovery.

  2. Why was BuDb created?

    Currently information relevant for Buruli ulcer drug discovery are found in literature and other functional annotation databases. BuDb was thus created to provide “a one stop” knowledgebase for Buruli ulcer drug discovery. This is a database solely focused on Buruli ulcer drug research.

  3. Importance of BuDb

    • Serves as a repository for Buruli ulcer data to enhance easy retrievals.
    • Provide information relevant for Buruli ulcer drug discovery research.
    • Accelerate drug discovery processes for Buruli ulcer by reducing the time allocated for the traditional way of data curation and mining processes.

Additionally, these enriched datasets are cross-referenced to other functional annotation databases.

  5. How can I query BuDb?

    The enhanced user query interface including both “Search Specified field” and “Search all fields” textboxes enable users to search a particular data entry from a specific data field and/or search all data fields in the database.

  6. Will there be any future updates or modifications to BuDb?

    Yes, we intend to keep the BuDb database updated by regularly adding available published datasets on Buruli ulcer drug discovery.

  7. Are there any limitations with BuDb?

    Yes, BuDb database does not update automatically and must manually be updated.

  8. Can I download detailed information on drug discovery data on M. ulcerans from BuDb?

    Yes, users may download drug information on BU in a tab delimited format via the download menu item.
